Time flies… Cheska celebrates her 12th birthday in Calgary.

Thanks to Ate Shirley and Kuya Armand for hosting the dinner party with friends and family. Special thanks to Ate Shirley for cooking all the yummy food including the cupcakes for Cheska’s classmates she gave out on her actual birthday. Most of all, thanks for all the gifts… Cheska can’t be happier on her birthday despite being new in this town.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our family and friends.

Spending our first Christmas in Calgary, we were all hoping for a white Christmas. However, that didn’t happen… The sun was up and the temperature was not bone chilling cold as one may expect from a northern city like Calgary.  To us, it almost feels like we were still in Houston, TX.

Though we miss our friends down south, we can’t be thankful enough for our new friends here who made us all feel welcome.  Thank you for all the gifts and warm greetings. We look forward to spending more holidays with everyone.

To make a long story short… we now live in Calgary, Canada.  It has been an exhausting but exciting journey.  As we start anew, we can’t help but miss our friends in Texas… we also miss the beautiful TX winter along with all the things we were familiar with. We can’t wait to vacation there soon. For now, we look forward to what lies ahead as we search for a new home, new friends and at the same time spend more time with Vergel’s brother’s family here who has kindly helped us all the way…  

Finally, thank God there is a Starbucks nearby. Now, if only I can find a coffee buddy.
