Last week, all first graders in my school went on a field trip to the Oil Ranch. First my class went to see the chickens, roosters and cows. Then we got to squeeze one of a cow’s 4 stomach chambers. Some people squeezed too hard and milk came out of the stomach chamber.
Then we went into a house that was a combination of a barn and a hayloft. Inside were chickens, chicks and roosters. At the back was a lot of hay that was made into a giant ramp and different size blocks. We got to play in it. In a small section of the house there were steps and we went up to a hall. On one end of the hall there was a little room and in it were two small openings in the floor with ladders to go down. We went down the ladders one by one until we were back on the floor we started on.
Then it was time for lunch. After lunch we went on a hay ride and we brought cow feed and we fed the cows. Then we rode horses. It is my second time to ride a horse or a pony. I rode a pony merry-go-round in the Rodeo two years ago.
For our snacks, we had snow cones. Then we rode a train around the ranch. Finally, it’s time to go back to school. The field trip was fun. Too bad we weren’t allowed to bring a camera.
